Chapter 9

Justin woke her up at twelve thirty.  "I'll take you home," he told Sam. "You're in no condition to be
driving."
"Do I look that bad?" Sam asked, dazed.
"No, it's just that I don't want you falling asleep at the wheel and crashing into something."
    "How will you get back?"
"I'll come back with the guys."  Justin pulled her up and they walked out of the room, heading to the
elevators.  Justin drove to the apartment and walked in with her.
    "Hi, everyone," Sam said, yawning.
"Why if it isn't Samantha," Lesley, drawled.  "I never thought you'd be so.... slutty and fall in bed
with a guy on the second date."
    Sarah gasped.
"Lesley," JC said, in shock. He'd never heard his girlfriend be so vicious before.
Sam stared at Lesley for a second, then walked to her room, slamming the door behind her.
"You BITCH," Sarah said, once she'd recovered from her shock. "You have no fucking right to call
her a slut.  If anyone in here is one, it's you. Get the fuck out of this apartment, before I throw you out."

Lesley looked at Sarah.  "You can't mean to throw me out for stating an obvious fact.  Anyone
could tell they'd done something."
"No, we didn't do anything," Justin explained. "She fell asleep. That's it."
"GET OUT NOW." Sarah jumped up and pointed to the door.  "JC,  you ever bring her to my
home again, I'll kick both of you out."
Lesley flounced out the apartment, slamming the door.  JC looked from the front door to the
hallway, trying to decide who he wanted to talk to first.
"You go take care of the bitch," Justin told JC, heading for Sam's room. "I'll make sure Sam's
okay."
He knocked on the door.  "Sam, can I come in?"
Sam opened the door.  "What do you want?" She asked, letting him walk in and closing the door
behind him.
"To make sure you're okay.  Don't let  Lesley get to you.  She's doesn't know what she's talking
about." Justin  hugged her.
"Why does she hate me so much? What did I ever do to her?"
"I don't know," Justin said, untruthfully. You were born. You became friends with JC. You
became more beautiful than her.  She fears losing JC to you.  "Why don't you go to bed.  I'll  be
over at ten.  We need to do some major talking and planning."
JC stared down the hallway, fighting the urge to go comfort Sam. He shook his head, looked at his
friends and said, "I'll be back." He walked outside. looking for Lesley.
She was leaning against a car.  JC walked up to her.
    "You shouldn't have said that."
Lesley looked up at him. "I'm really sorry." she said, making her eyes full with tears.  "I don't think
she's a slut. I don't know why I said that."
"Don't tell me you're sorry. It's Sam you need to apologize to."
    "Should I go apologize now?"
"Why don't you wait until morning, then talk to her. That'll give everyone sometime to cool down."
"I hope she isn't to angry with me. " Lesley clasped her hands together wringing them, " I do want us
to be friends."
JC leaned down and kissed her. "I knew there was a reason why I loved you. Will you marry me?"
"Why of course, darling," Lesley purred. "I love you." Your money, that is.
"Why don't we go back to the hotel and celebrate?" Lesley smiled. She had him right where she
wanted him. "I think that's a wonderful idea." JC kissed her again, then opened the door for her.
Walking around the car, JC looked up at the apartment. He saw the Shadow of someone at the
window, and raised his hand good bye.

"I can't believe that," Lance exclaimed, watching JC and Lesley from the window. "Is he that blind?"

"He's just besotted with Lesley," Justin said. Are they leaving?"
"Yep. I can't believe he's planning on proposing to that woman. She's such a.... "Lance paused, not
wanting to insult a woman.
"A bitch," Sarah said. "She's a bitch and obsessed with JC's money. But he can't see that. All he
sees is the image she projects to the world."
"She tried to get me in bed,"  Justin said. "Only a few months after they started dating. That's when I
realized what she is.  I tried to tell JC, but he didn't believe me."
"She'll ruin his life if they do get married." Joey said.
"And another life," Justin said softly.

Everyone came over at ten. Sam, Sarah, and Bri were talking about what they should move to the
apartment, and what they should do with the things they weren't going to use.
"We should use Bri's entertainment center," Sam said. "It's the biggest TV."
"That's fine with me," Bri said. "Are we using our own beds and dressers?
"Yeah," Sarah said "And desks. But we should make the spare bedroom the computer room."
"That sounds good; and we all have laptop's so if we can't sleep and we want to go online in the
middle of the night, we can," Bri said.
"How many phone lines are we going to have?" Sam asked. "We need one that's open, in case of
emergency's and important phone calls, and probably another three, One for each of us."
"Definitely," Sarah said. "Otherwise, we're going to be fighting all the time.
"We do realize that we're each going to have to work probably tow jobs," Bri said. "We're dividing
rent, bills, and everything else. It's going to be pretty expensive."
"Hopefully, I can sell my books," Sam said. "But I'm still going to work."
"And she's helping me at the studio," Sarah said. "I'm doing photo shoots mainly for Jive, but I also
work freelance.  It pays pretty good.  If I do half as good in Florida. I'm going to have to hire another
assistant."
"I'll be the first to apply," Bri said. "I doubt I'm going to find a job I like right away, but like I said,
we need to work."    The guys came over then so they quit talking about what they were going to do.
JC and Lesley were the last ones in. Lesley looked up at Sam, who was leaning against the kitchen
counter, her blue eyes wide and innocent. "I'm really sorry about last night I didn't mean it."
Sam looked at Lesley. At 5'10, Sam towered over the 5'4 tall Lesley, and Lesley always seemed to
hate that fact. " I don't care what you think of me, so I really don't have anything to forgive you for. But
I guess I'll be understanding and accept you apology." She shrugged.
Lesley smiled, a bright model smile. "Good I wouldn't want that little.. misunderstanding to come
between us. Now that I'm JC's fiancee, I think we should be friends."
"Yes, that would be nice," Sam said over brightly.  The smile that graced her face was Bright and
beautiful, and entirely fake.  "I'm happy for you two."
JC smiled, not noticing that Sam was lying and that her smile was fake. "Thank you." He picked up
Lesley's left hand, where a diamond solitaire rested on her finger. " I hope you two become good
friends."
