Chapter 4 "Uuhh, hey Justin. Nothing's wrong baby." Brittni said nervously wiping at her face. She couldn't tell Justin about her being pregnant. Not yet. "Britt, something' s wrong, I can tell that your crying. Is it because of your doctors appointment? What happened?" "Justin, stop worrying. You know me, sometimes I have days when I just cry. Today happens to be one of those days." She laughed trying to make Justin believe that she was ok. He saw through it, he just didn't want to pressure her. "Ok, so how was the appointment?" Brittni closed her eyes and tried to think up an excuse she could tell him that wouldn't exactly cause her to lie. She wouldn't do that to Justin, especially about him becoming a father. "Um, it was good nothing wrong with me." Which was true, she was pregnant, not sick. "Ok, good to know. I know I said for you to call me but we were on a break and I figured that you must be out by now, so I called." "Cool." "Haha, well aren't we talkative today?" "Yeah, sorry Justin. I'm not all here right now." "Well I can tell. Anyways, we gotta get back to work, love you!" "Love you Ju, bye!" She hung up the phone and drove back home. Once she got inside she noticed that there were two messages on the answering machine. One was Brittni's cousin Michelle calling to catch up on things, but the other one was more important. "Hey Justin, this is Amanda. I called you about a week ago, and Brittni answered and said that you were busy, and told me that she'd tell you I called. You never called back, so I was wondering if she gave you the message or not. Anyways, i'm in town for a while and I thought that we could get together and catch up on everything. It's been years since i've seen or spoke to you. So just give me a call, 456-2155. Bye!" "My pregnant ass he's going to call you back." She said and deleted the message. Brittni made her way into the living room and put Titanic in the DVD player and started to watch the movie. But when she realized that she was thinking about her situation more than she was paying attention to the TV, she turned it off. Once again she began crying over everything, so she grabbed some tissues and soon fell asleep on the soft leather couch. ~*~ "Ok guys. Have another break then we just gotta put a few more lines down and then your off!" Tony called out to the tired group of men. They made their way out into the hall to get some air and bottles of water. Justin was just about to call Brittni to check up on her. He was worried at how distant she had seemed when he called earlier. as soon as he picked up his phone, it rang. "Hello?" "Hey, Justin?" the female voice asked. "Yes, who's this?" "It's Amanda." Justin felt his stomach do a flip. Was this really the Amanda who he had first given his heart to? The Amanda who dumped him when she found out that he would be going on the Mickey Mouse Club? "Amanda Scott?" He asked quietly. "Yeah! You remembered me!" "Yeah, I guess I did." Justin was at a loss of words for what to say to this woman who he hadn't barely even thought of for the past 10 years. "Oh my god, so what's up with you pop star huh? Last time I talked to you, you were a little nerdy kid, who was about no taller then I was. Now look at you Timbs." "Yeah, alot has changed." Justin thought back to when they were younger. He and Amanda were the best of friends who had always had feelings for each other. One day Justin kissed her when they were sitting on a bench eating their lunches and after that, they were insepparatable. But all that changed when he was accepted into the MMC. Amanda told him that she couldn't be with him anymore. She wanted to have a boyfriend who was always there for her. Not someone who she could only keep in touch with through letters and phone calls since he would be in Orlando, and Amanda, back in Memphis. He remembered her always calling him Timbs, he used to love that name, now it just brought pain. Pain because he had felt so much heartbreak after she broke up with him. All memories of her lead him to that one evening in his backyard. "What are you doing calling me after all this time?" He asked wanting to get the un-welcome memories out of his head. "Well, I moved up here and I wanted to get together with you sometimes. So I called up your dad and he gave me your number." "Oh, ok." Amanda sighed. "This must be really uncomfortable for you Timbs. I mean, you haven't even seen me since I was what? Like, 12 or something, i'm sorry I even called in the first place." "No, no. It's ok, don't worry. I'd love to meet up with you sometime." "Alright, well how about tomorrow around 3, that ok?" "Um, yeah, it's great. Where should I meet you?" "How about that little cafe on Maple Rd.? Sound ok?" "Sounds great, see you then." "Great, bye Justin!" "Bye." 'Great, now I can have him all to myself again. I'd better watch it if I were you Brittni, I was his first love. I'm his real love.' Amanda thought and hung up the phone. Just before he could call Brittni, Tony called them back inside. "Dammit." ~*~ Justin walked through the living room of his house and saw Brittni curled up in a ball on the sofa. He noticed a few tissues scattered around the room and got a little worried. He then noticed the 'Titanic' case on the coffee table and laughed. "Chicks." Gingerly, he picked her up, brought her upstairs, and into their bedroom. He noticed that she was still in her normal clothes, so he took them off, leaving Brittni in her bra and underwear. He looked down a her, over her beautiful body, and especially her stomach. It seemed to him that her stomach, over the past couple of months, had gotten chubbier. He ignored the fact and put her in one of his big A&F t-shirts. He changed and got in bed next to her. Suddenly his mind was filled with thoughts and questions of Amanda. 'How had she changed since he last saw her?' 'What if she thinks i'm ugly when I see her tomorrow?' ' What if I think she's ugly?' "What if she's beautiful?' Just then Brittni snuggled up to his chest knocking him out of his thoughts. He looked down at her and smiled. Her beautiful, delicate features were lit up by the light of the moon peering in through the window. He breathed in her wonderful sent and rested his chin against the top of her head. "No one could ever be more beautiful than you babygirl. Goodnight, I love you." |
