| Darren and I had a few hours to kill before the game started so we went over to the card shop (“Maverick’s”) to get some more cards signed for later on tonight, we had a load of cards to get signed, including cards of Tibbetts, Kloucek, Mottau, Fata, and LaBarbera. But guess what? Not one of those guys was there tonight!!! Just our luck, but fortunately, Ward, Holmqvist, Lundmark, Lyashenko, Murray, and Meyer WOULD be there tonight so at least we wouldn’t be missing everyone! Anyway… after the game a few players came up including Lyashenko (1 card and print out) and Murray (2 cards and print out), so everything was going fine until this HUGE group of literally about 12 players came up but I managed to get like 10 of them, Bobby Andrews, Ken Gernander, Gordie Dwyer, Matt Kinch, Jeff State, Dean Arsene, David Inman, John Tripp, Richard Litner, and Benoit Dusablon, all on my print out. After all of this mayhem, Lundmark came out with another play so I got Jamie on 2 cards and Darren got him on 2 cards, the two players joked about the cards, and Lundmark took his CHL card and said “hey this was back when I was thin” or something like that, the player with him was making fun of his skinny face lol and Jamie came back by saying “Hey leave me alone, I was seventeen”. After a while of waiting, Holmqvist and Meyer came out, the only guys left for us to get since we were told that Dixon Ward had already left, I got Holmqvist on 2 cards, and Darren got him on 3 cards, I got both goalies on my print out while Darren got them both on his GIC. Not a bad night, sucks that those few players weren’t there but what are ya gunna do? While we were waiting for our ride, we saw a few players go into the store across the street so we went over and Darren got them on index cards, not sure which players they were though. |
