| Well this is another game that I had to hound my self as Matt was unable to attend another game. It sucks hounding by yourself its nice to have a little bit of company since I am the only one there all the time. Well anyway The leafs shocked Providence in a 4-3 win scoring 2 shorthanded goals during the same penalty kill early in the third period. I was suppose to meet jason brenton there after the game , he was suppose to give me some cards but he was a no show. On the Providence site Hilbert, Morrison, and Vernarsky were said to be called up but I brought their cards anyway and to my surprise all of them showed up! I was so glad to see them there, I needed them for my AHL set. We were sitting 2nd row back from the glass and it was a great game. After the game I did same old same old, I got a few players on a sheet for Matt, and then while I was looking outside I think I saw Chris Kelleher but I was not sure..he was already to far gone for me to go after him, plus is was Freeeeeezzzinngg out, Sorry Paul. After getting a few players, Andy Hilbert and Andrew Raycroft came up, Hilbert signed 4 of the 5 cards I had there for him with a very small signature, Raycroft kept walking so I had to then go after him, I was lucky to have caught him right before he was crossing the road, I had 6 cards for him but I only had time to pull out 2, he signed on 00/01 UD RC for Ryan Tierney and one 00/01 Vintage card for my self. They came out pretty good other then he rushed them a little bit, but I dont blame him, standing in the cold is no fun. I hurried back to my "station" and fortunatly no other players came up. The next group of guys came up and I got them to signed the sheet as well, then Tim Thomas and another player (I didn't really look at him), came up and I got Tim Thomas to signed Boston Puck and the sheet, I also got the other player to signt he sheet as well. So that was cool, he has a GREAT looking auto, you can see a good one from pauls RIC set. Previous to the game I ran to Mavericks our local Sports Card shop and he was in the middle of closing but he let me in anyway, he was already late so I grabbed what i saw first and got the Boston Puck thomas signed and a 15$ Jeff Jillson Mask Collection RC /1500 (Someone emailed me about it asking for me to get it signed for them, so I grabbed that. Anyway back ot the story, the next group of guys came up and I got Jeff Jillson so sign the Mask COllection card and a Sharks Puck. The other guys really just kept walking, they were going to fast I was only able to get one other guy and fortunatly it was a guy I had a card of Kris Vernarsky. but I forgot to powder the card and it came out horribly, it was the CHL prospects set. I got him to sign the sheet I had as well. Well by that time I was pretty sure I missed Huml and Kutlak so that was a bit of a bummer, so I packed up and left....over all it was a cool outing getting 2 pucks, 9 cards and 15 autos on a sheet. |
