Hi, my name is Nedra Isenberg. When someone asks me how long I've been teaching I'll usually answer about seventeen years. Then I stop and realize that's how old my oldest child is and I was teaching a few years before he was born. So, actually this will be my 24th year of teaching in the public schools and I taught pre-school for several years before that.  I started my teaching career in kindergarten, then moved up to first grade and six years ago I moved up to second grade taking my whole class along with me. I  looped from first to second with three groups of students. I am now ready to begin my second year of teaching second grade with a new group of students.  I love second grade and am looking forward to staying at this grade level.

My husband and I are from the mid-west but have been living in this area for about 20 years. My husband is a graphic arts teacher and we have a son in twelth grade and a daughter in eighth grade. Year round when I'm not at school I can often be found at a hockey rink. Both our children play hockey. This year our daughter is playing on a team in Syracuse and my son plays on the Whitesboro varsity high school team. We plan on supporting our local college hockey programs this year as well if we can fit it into our schedule. It's a good thing I love the sport! During the warmer months I love to spend time in my garden. I find gardening to be a very relaxing hobby.
