John & Mildred Hodshire

About the couple

Mildred and I have been married for 46 years on Febuary 16, 2003.  We have lived in the same home in Valparaiso, Indiana for 41 years.  I am retired from public school teaching after 39 years.  Mildred taught too, but quit to take care of our 3 children. We have 4 grandchildren who don't live close enough to us; 2 in Illinois and 2 in Alabama

January 28, 2001 This was the saddist day of our married life. Our eldest daughter, Nancy Adele Dixon, died in Hospice at Valparaiso, IN. She will be greatly missed by us, her brother & sister and her two children.

We are both musicians.  I play the clarinet in a German band.  Mildred plays the flute and I play the bass clarinet in a concert band known as The Rusty Pipes. We are active in the First United Methodist church doing many things.  We teach 55 Alive/Mature Driving for AARP.

I am an only child, so I don't have brothers or sisters. Mildred on the other hand has a twin sister--Marion and an oldersister Edith
