Parc Paradisio

Many people had recommended that we check out Parc Paradisio, so we decided to check it out with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Garry. This is a park that includes all kinds of fun. It is located about 45 minutes west of our house, on an old abbey grounds. Remember the Cistercian Abbey ruins we saw near our house? Well, this is another ruin, only it's been built into a park.

Above is an old well from the Abbey. To the left is an old building that has been turned into the Aquarium. There is a fantastic playground at the park.

The most amazing features of the park are the animals! The restaurant where we had lunch has a path through various enclosures with all kinds of animals, especially interesting birds. This meercat was standing guard. When we finally made our way to the monkey and lemur islands, we were delighted and shocked to find that the animals are not enclosed. The ringtailed lemurs were curious but not very friendly. The black and white lemurs, though, were eager to be petted. What a thrill, for Grandma Pat, Grandpa Garry, Will and Ellen to pet a lemur! The spider monkeys were cute, but only looked at us like they expected to be fed! Against the rules. This is our idea of a great day! We bought a season pass at the end of our visit!
