Bear Cave
Description
Camping
Bear cave is kewl. It is a network or maze like of passages that include walking passages to crawling to chimeying. Bear Cave has 8,500 feet of passages and has several streams coming in at different points in the cave. There are several large rooms in this cave and do not be disturbed if you find sand castles in one of the rooms. I know it sounds strange but when you come to a room filled with sand and castles already built you just feel like building one your self. I did and I have.
There are also a few things to know about this cave. The streams that runs through it feeds into the local water supply so be clean. The land owners have spent a lot of time trying to clean this place up so dont spoil it. Remember this is private land so respect it.

Bear Cave was the third cave I ever explored. When I say explored I don't mean the tour group thing with the sidewalks and the lights and paint. It is a real shame what people have done to caves in order to make money.
Back then you could walk past the resevoir so it was much easier to get to the cave. I have run into peple who have camped here over night but I dont think that is allowed any more. I used to repelle at the querry to but that is not allowed anymore either.
If you are going to Bear cave bring lots of water and a snack. You ar going to be there for a while. There is also a lot of trails on the mountain to hike and the view from the top of the cliffs above Con Cave is awesome.
