Farming in the Buford-Trenton Irrigation District.
David's Farm is in the center of this picture. The Missouri is in the foreground, while Erickson's Island and "The Slough" are in the background.
This is another shot of our fertile valley. The irrigation district was built in the 1930's as a CCC project. Most fields are about 20 to 50 acres. Most of the green fields are sugarbeets. The tan fields are spring wheat or durum wheat. An occasional corn field or alfalfa field dots the landscape.
Looking due south. My grandparents farm is in the foreground. My parents' shelterbelt is south 2 miles on the right side of the road.
This is the view we wake up to every morning. The bluffs that follow the Missouri.

This is an irrigation canal. The water is pumped out of the Missouri River.
