What has been lost to love and hope? What has been lost to the heart and the soul? Friends? Family? Loved ones? All lost, all forever scared by the heart and the soul, by love and hope. Will they forgive, will they forget? Times of old are all but gone, the new age brings no hope, brings no love, and no understanding. The mind, the mind is what is left when all feeling is gone. But with the mind being left a feeling comes back. Guilt. Guilt for not thinking, guilt for not loving, guilt for not believing. So many lost, so many forgotten. For what? To ease the suffering of the heart, to ease the burden of caring, to ease a soul that is forever trapped in the lasting torment of guilt. Why is it our minds can easily be changes, and hope is easily thrown aside? Because a heart and a soul can not so easily be changes, because those things, those two steady things remain intact. A heart can be broken, a soul can be corrupt but it’s true being, it’s one form is always unaltered. When all is dead and gone, when all is forgotten and hated, only one thing stands tall amongst the runes of life, Hope. |
