Our Mission Statement The mission of our group is to increase the quality of child care that children receive, to help parents find care, to help local children through charitable endeavors, to provide emotional support through fun nights out and to increase public opinion of family child care. We increase the quality of childcare by providing professional trainings through local agencies such as Home Health and Child Care, SHARE and Self Help. In this way we are able to insure that all providers in Holbrook easily reach the 15 or more hours of training required for licensing or re-licensing. We help parents to find childcare by distributing group business cards to schools and local businesses that deal with children. This gives parents contact information so they can easily receive a list of providers in Holbrook. We have a referral coordinator whose job it is to maintain a list of providers who currently have openings, the hours they are open and the age groups they are willing to enroll. We also provide licensed back up for each other so that parents are never left without childcare. As a group, we work with local charitable organizations to provide help to families and their children during the holidays. An example of this would be our holiday toy drive and food drive. We hope to eventually have a small scholarship available for high school seniors and college students wishing to pursue an education in early childhood. Finally, because family childcare provides little adult contact, we plan fun nights out where we can meet other providers in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure. All of this is done in the hopes of increasing professionalism among our group and to help the public realize that we are not just babysitters. We are educators who work hard to promote good emotional, physical and intellectual health, for the children in our care, through safe, happy and nurturing environments. |
