Black Student Alliance

The Hollins University Black Student Alliance is dedicated to providing an awareness of the African American culture in the Hollins and Roanoke community through programs and service.  Along with this role, the organization is committed to providing a sisterly haven for all Hollins women of color.

The Black Student Alliance is here to cultivate and encourage women of color to become involved with leadership activities on the Hollins University campus and to enhance the lives of the entire Hollins community.  The Alliance is an organization that helps to advance diversity, creativity, self-expression, unity, independence and self-confidence.  It is an organization not only open to women of color, but to all women of Hollins University devoted to sharing and learning about the African American culture.

We also pledge to promote sisterhood, collectiveness and to uphold diversity.  We pledge to share our culture through social and cultural activites with Hollins and the surrounding communities.  Lastly, we hope to better Hollins and leave behind an institution of cultural awareness for future classes.

We are always looking for new ways to serve and expand into our community.  If you want to get together for an event or project, or have any ideas please, feel free to drop us a line at:
