The Schnauzer Chronicles |

"Mocha" is a 3 year old chocolate Lab! She has come to stay with us for about six months. Her Army dad is being stationed in England which has a quarrantine on animals coming in to the country. She has been with us since 27 May 01. It was very difficult to break her out of the "Airport Jail" and we are now convinced that the Mafia or some other organized group runs it!! We spent over 7 hours at the Frankfurt International Airport trying to get her released! What a day! And it was raining to boot! But she is here now and enjoying her temporary home with occasional whimpers that we can only interpret as her missing her real family. The pictures on this page are intended for her family to view while she is away from them. |

On Mocha's second day with us, we introduced her to BARF. Here she is with her first raw meaty bone. She munched this one up pretty quick! |

I did find something for her to put in her mouth when she gets excited: tennis balls! By the third or fourth day, I could tell she was looking for something to carry in her mouth when she was happy! As you can see, this did the trick. What would a house with dogs be without tennis balls? |

Fitting right in, Mocha tries to keep her tennis ball away from my husband. Poor Mocha didn't know he would go after it INSIDE her mouth! She still ended up winning by running in her crate with it! |
A little game of tug with my son, got her all excited and bouncing around! We'll have to try this one outside next time! |

The "Piece de Resistance": Mocha and Windsor acting like they've known eachother forever! It's so funny to watch her get so excited when I let him out of the kitchen to play! She starts hopping and jumping around. Poor Windsor has to hide until she calms down because she bats him around like a little dust ball! |
UPDATE: Mocha left to go to England just before Thanksgiving 2001. On a recent email to her daddy (Jul 02), I was told that she ran off with another lab and had a litter of 5 black puppies a few months ago. What a gal! I'm told mommie and babies are all well. Best of luck Mocha! We miss you! |
