CHEWING--SOILING YOUR HOUSE--BARKING--BITING.
Just a few of the behavior problems that you could encounter with your dog. So what's an owner supposed to do? Well, you could beat the dog, scream at the dog, lock the dog up or just get rid of the dog. All of which won't solve the problems, save the last one which means that you weren't quite ready for the committment anyway.
I could sit here and write forever about suggestions, but unless you're committed to your dog, it really just wastes my time and yours.
Like children, dogs act out for a reason. Boredom-loneliness-health issues-unsure place in family or ignorance are just some of the factors. It's your job to decide what's going on. These few questions may help to get you on the right track:
1. What is the age of your dog?
2. Is your dog home alone all day?
3. Is your dog getting enough exercise?
4. Is your dog actually a family member and a loved part of the family?
5. Is your dog exhibiting signs of illness? 6. And lastly, are you too anal about your dog? As harsh as that is, some owners are too nervous about their dogs and in turn their dogs act out. A good place to start is with a noted professional. I recommend reading books authored by CAROL LEA BENJAMIN. A noted animal trainer with a no nonsense approach to training your best friend. The following books, all by Ms. Benjamin, should positively assist you in any area of behavior you are needing help with:
