Kings of Leon are a four-piece band made up of 3 brothers and a first cousin - Caleb Followill - rhythym guitar/lead vox Jared Followill - bass guitar Matthew Followill - lead guitar Nathan Followill - percussion/backing vox Media darlings ever since the release of their debut EP 'Holy Roller Novocaine' the press seem suitably most interested in the story of the bands background. Born into a close congregation with their father as the preacher, the boys moved about quite often in their childhood, living in cars and vans and trailers until they finally settled when their father was de-robed for unruly behaviour. The bands background is obviously a very close influence to their songs and marks a very important statement in the way they write them. Dubbed as the 'southern strokes' (though some people disagree as it is quite a cliche) Kings of Leon have appeared at quite a few festivals this year including Glastonbury, T in the Park and Witness to name a few. A band being this big at such an early stage are sure to be legends in the future and this is only the beginning. |
