RHAD explained...

A New Breed of Biker

CENTERVILLE (AP) -- The nation's only computer club/biker gang descended on Centerville this weekend. The Lilac chapter of the gang called Red Hot Acronyms of Death (RHAD) chose Centerville for its annual meeting largely due to the high concentration of Radio Shacks in the area. Club president, John "Binary" Lambright, was pleased with the turn out. "Most of our members still live at home, and their moms won't let them come. This time I said 'Hey Mom, I'm 33 - I can go if I want to.'.

The major event the weekend was the "Devils Triangle" contest. This was a three part race where members chugged half a beer, revved their motorcycle engine (most members don't actually know how to ride their bike), and then completed a brief mathematical proof. Larry "Abacus" Bandy won for the third year in a row. "Man...I'm buzzed" was about all Bandy could say prior to briefly passing out.

RHAD (pronounced "rad") membership has grown steadily over the years. Efforts are underway in Idaho to form a new chapter. Idaho's Richard Simmons chapter of RHAD hopes to be active by year end.

Maybe I named this page in honor of these fine young Americans... or maybe I just thought it was a cool name.
