Talked to a friend of mine this morning who has a recurring on Y&R. She says that the powers that be at Days are feuding with the Network, and that the show is likely going to go up in smoke, and that therefore, yes, NBC is starting a new soap. Furthermore, Another world might get the axe. Sunset Beach, no matter how badly it might suck, is getting kept for now, because of the young demographic. So yes, NBC is casting a new soap. Whether or not they would actually take a national search the least bit seriously, however, rather than simply use it as publicity, is wholly another matter. best, sterling -- admittedly not the best source of info for soaps.
