How to See Me for Half a Second Without Trying Too Hard Friday, 10-Jul-98 22:50:51
There is a new Blockbuster spot which I shot in the desert a couple of months ago called "Prisoners." We're all wearing orange prison jumpsuits. About 10 seconds into the spot, after my 300 lb. huge bald black friend Rosey exits the prison bus, he and I do a disco "bump" that's on the screen for about half a second (I am at screen left -- big (but not as big as Rosey), dirty, and blond). I don't know how many edits there are, or if I am in those other edits or not, presuming they exist (probably not) ... ... but ... THANK GOD FOR THAT HALF SECOND!!!The ad agency sickens me, because they have pretended that I am not in the spot, and now, come this following Monday, I am going to have to file with SAG to hunt them down like dogs(that's what the union is for). It saddnes me so much that the powers that be spent surely a million dollars in the desert, to build a fake prison that we shot at (torn down immediately after the shoot), but now, they are trying to dink me out of the few dollars that I would like to use to pay my rent. It happens all the time. That's why we have a union. I have filed 38 claims with SAG, and have lost 2. Come monday, I will have to file number 39. Tell me, please, if you catch that spot with me in it, as it will be important to my claim against the production company with SAG.
