Kelly, I have a fairly sifnificant theatre background, so I am hoping I can ease some of the concerns your AJ is having. First, It's always goin to be nerve raking each time you hit the stage. Usually, once you go out start your scene most of that nervous energy goes right into the performance! As far as other actors forgeting lines, I can't tell you how many blank stares i have gotton from other actors in the middle of a scene, knowing they are totally lost! Someone usually will have to jump in and start improving untill you get back on track. Vocal and physical warmups before the performance is also important. If he has his lines down, hopefully the rest will fall into place. Sometimes emotional responses are so spontaneous, so he may discover some new things with that when he gets in front of an audience. Most important is his attitude! It's great! You really can't ever expect to make money acting, most actors don't.It's a way of life for some of us, something we have to do to feel normal! Keep up the live theatre, it's the best thing for his acting skills, by the way, what play/part? =JEFF Jeff Ferris |
