Kelly, tell AJ if he trips, to get up; if he knocks over a prop, pick it up and put it back; if he knocks over scenery, say oops! and keep going. If he knows the story, the lines (his or his co-actors') will come to him or someone in something resembling order. Life is unpredictable so if he can realize that if something unpredictable happens in his play; it's simply like life. Stay in character, adjust to the unplanned event much the way anyone would do in life. Particularly, however, make sure to tell AJ that no what happens - no matter how bad he thinks it is - worse has happened to other actors on some stage somewhere sometime. Tell him the most important things are to stay in character and to HAVE FUN! Great good luck to him and break legs!
