Kelly, tell AJ if he trips, to get up; if he knocks over a prop, pick it up and put it back; if he knocks over scenery, say oops! and keep going. If he knows the story, the lines (his or his co-actors') will come to him or someone in something resembling order. Life is unpredictable so if he can realize that if something unpredictable happens in his play; it's simply like life. Stay in character, adjust to the unplanned event much the way anyone would do in life. Particularly, however, make sure to tell AJ that no what happens - no matter how bad he thinks it is - worse has happened to other actors on some stage somewhere sometime.
