    Yes, yes, yes!

I am stunned by folks -- fellow actors -- who ask me in a very puzzled tone *why* my sketch troupe performs *every week*, even though we're currently having trouble getting audiences larger than 4-5 people (whereas if we took three months off and then did 2-4 shows we'd might get a better turnout, or so we're told). Well, it's to Get On Stage and Keep Ourselves Sharp!

We had audible laughter from a group of 5 people tonight... and anybody in comedy knows that it's not easy to get a small group of people to laugh out loud at *anything*! Most people, it seems, feel embarrassed to laugh out loud unless there's that "critical mass" of people around them that nobody knows *they're* laughing! :)

We're really blessed and lucky to have a regular slot and a theatre whose management supports us, and we're certainly not going to give it up for the sake of less frequent shows with *maybe* a bigger audience but *definitely* worse performances...

This really paid off when we went to Austin for the Big Stinkin' Festival and had great audiences... we killed at both shows we did there. I doubt we'd have been good enough to hold our own with the better troupes there (some of whom saw our show and complimented us, which really made us feel good when we saw how good *they* were!) if we hadn't been performing regularly.
