Look at the chances of success... 90 percent ( if not more ) of the postings for actors, crew and even equipment in BSW/DL are: "meals, copy and credit... and NO PAY" Half the jobs that promise some kind of money pay $10. a performance, $40 a day or 'differed' which means you'll get a $10. when the brother-in-law that produced the thing says he just can take any more small bills. That's what this business IS! I've been acting, writing and more for over 20 (yes 20) years... and this is the sad part: I never got paid more than when I produced the Noon news in Fresno! (live with that concept awhile!) Everyone out here talks about connections like they are part of some secret mob. I'm surprised anything but shlock gets made in this town! Meanwhile hundreds of "Agencies", "Schools" and "Services" pull $20. here and $50. there from every would-be actor that stumbles into their headlights.
