Since I call this place the actors' exchange, I just wanted to be extra clear as to the fact that discussions of the films over at Virtual Producer, or films in general, is certainly welcome here.

I know that some discussion of the films has started over on TT, which means, therefore, that it's just a matter of time before people start bashing those who want to discuss that over on those boards.

Personally, I would love to see some discussion of why certain projects are "good" and worthy of support, why others might not be.

Some of the choices of directors over there looked gutsy. Some looked just plain preposterous.

As for this place being an "actors" board, yes, that's true ... but I cannot tell you how much I have learned over the last year about the real industry and things to look for by playing Hollywood "games." To me, reading about projects in the abstract is useful, but it's fairly passive. On the other hand, actually "doing it," even in a virtual way, I think exercises a whole new branch of thought that is valuable to actors to understand the business side of the equation.

Plus, of course, one of the perqs of being moderator is that I get to decide what is "on topic" around here, and what is not. So once again, virtual producer posts are welcomed here, but any time anybody starts bashing anybody else personally, or calling them names for having done this, that or the other, I can, and presumably will, delete the posts. If someone wants a place to bash others completely unproductively, they can do it over on Ticker Talk, which seems to exist for such a purpose ... any individuals wishing to do that don't need this as well.

    Spread the word.

    best,

And yes, I am well aware that unless somebody else "hires" me over at Virtual Producer for their project (at a current price of $0.0), then it will be pretty darn obvious which projects I am behind. But hey, if I'm the producer, then I'm going to hire myself and try to place myself in a realistic role. Just part of the fun.
