I agree about the price of directors, but my suggestion, that Ex and the powers that be might go for, is to pick some lesser known director that you like, propose a reasonable price for them, and put it with your proposal, and be sure to leave MORE than enough in your budget to account for them. That seems to be a real win-win situation. Given the workload that they are obviously dealing with, I don't know that they would be thrilled to see new director proposals, but given that I think that they are currently calculating the budgets by hand anyway, as long as you leave MORE than enough money for the cheaper director that you might want, I think the chances reaosnable that they might go for it. Also, other players should not have a problem with it, because after all, since by going with a lesser known and cheaper director, surely you will lose some votes from those who don't know their directors really well. But at least then we won't see the really strange pairings that we are getting now. Cannot really crticize, since like you said, the options were limited. I felt fortunate in that somebody was avaible that I felt appropriate to my genre, although, like you said, they did not come cheap. best, sterling Sterling Wolfe |
