THE STORY SO FAR:

In the beginning there was Heptarchy Prime. Through colonisation the early Heptarchy managed to expand and to build cities throughout the Asian and African continent. But soon, majot threats emerged.
The Zulus, a primitive and warloving people threatend our peaceful population. Furthermore, persistent barbaric raids threatend our cities. General Smith, the sucessor of Gernal Thorn as Supreme Commander of the Army) was given full authorisation to retaliate.
Unfortunately, antoher hostile people, the Germans, were discovered. The necessity to defend the Heptarchy led to an enormous increase in taxation. Thus, many cities rebelled and the Heptarchy experienced several short but frightening periods of arnarchy
Prime Speaker Daniel I. managed to put the rebels down and General Smith sucessfully pacified the Zulzus. The war against the Germans is still ongoing but the Heptarchy's Armed Forces have conquered all but two of the Enemys cities. Thus, victory is only a question of time!
However, the Heptarchy has long had knowledge of another race, more vicious and hostile, than any encountered so far. This race is called the Dark Empire and is leaded by the ruthless and evil Imperial Commander Siedler. Because of the defense measures against Zulus and Germans the armed forces whave not been able to cleanse the earth of the Siedler scum.
Situated mainly in North and South America the Empire is decadent and will in the long run not be able to withstand the mighty Heptarchy Defence Force.
Recently, the German capital Berlin was conquered and an Embassy to the Dark Empirewas established! Only 10 years later our forces were able to capture Dresden, thus only Rome remained under German control.The Dark Empire became more and more dangerous! In an unprecedented incident near Australia, two Empire warship destroyed a peaceful Heptarchy vessel. Furthermore, the Empire insisted on a peace treaty, but offerd nearly unacceptable conditions. Something must be done about the Empire menace, and it must be done soon!!.
Following this nearly unbelievable agression of the Empire Prime Speaker Gul Daniel I, has decleard a state of emergency and has announced the creation of a Siedler Task Force (STF) to deal with the problem!
A few years later the Grand Army conquered Rome.The peoples of the Heptarchy danced on the streets because the Germans are now finally pacified. Following the conquest of Rome, an unprecedented era of peace and prosperity followed. Prime Speaker Daniel I. was able to announce a considerable decrease in taxes. Furthermore, the grand army was demolished and General Smith retired. He was followed by the able Field Mashall Hastings, who played an important role in the conquest of Rome.
Even relations with the Dark Empire improved. This good relationship was, however, severely strained by the Dark Empire's building of the Manhatten Project. The U.N. general assembly in New Heptarchy unaminously declared that "this project is extremely harmful to world peace and again shows the aggressive nature of the Dark Empire". When it became known that an independent study ranked the Dark Empire considerably lower than the Heptarchy, Imperial Commander Siedler said that could lead to more agressive actions of his empire. Nevertheless, the Heptarchy's eccomomy prospered. However, in his paranoia Imperial Commander Siedler built a lot of S.D.I. defence installations which produced enourmous pollution.
Although Heptarchy Scientists warned earily that such activities could lead to a rise in temperature, and consequently to global warming, the "Fuehrer" of the Dark Empire was not ready to listen until it was nearly to late.
In the last possible moment he was convinced to adopt measures against pollution and global warming was avoided.
Even more embarrasing was the Case of Fleet Admiral Checkers. He had led various missions against the Dark Empire before the Treaty of Peace International was signed and was even awarded the Hero of the Heptarchy (second class) decoration. But it seems to be the case that Admiral Checkers did not like the new policy of cooperation. In 1685 he ordered the HSS Achilles, a transporter, to open fire on a Dark Empire battleship. The transporter was destroyed, 20 people died. A comission was installed and its final report led to the dismissal of Admiral Checkers.
The H.I.S. survelliance satellite "Pride of the Heptarchy" has detected an enourmous increase in the population of the Dark Empire so that it even outnumbers the Heptarchies by now. This is cause for great concern.
Meanwhile, ecconomic prosperity continued. The citizens of the Heptarchy enjoy their new wealth. Consequentely there hasn't been an anarchy for nearly a century.
The Dark Empire's population continues to increase and now surpases the Heptarchy's by 2-3 million. Furthermore, Admiral Murdoch has confirmed HIS reports which indicate that the Empire is considerably increasing its weapon stock, especially builing more and more battleships.
Reliable sources also report that the Empire plans to illegally establish an embassy on Heptarchy grounds. This would be considered as a hostile act by the heptarchy. HNN reporters also witnessed that the ruling class of the Empire has aquired enourmous wealth which it uses for fany project, while the majority of the people live in misery and poverty.

THE LAST SESSION:

In the last session...
the Dark Empire not only established an embassy but also continued its policy of unprovoked agression by invadiing Heptatrchy territory with diplomats to spy on our unsuspecting citizens. The behaviour of the Dark Empire is no longer tolerable!

HNN ANNOUNCEMENT:

Recently, Dark Empire officals have complained about the information broadcasted on HNN. Obviously, they are not used to a free press! However, we will continue to independently report what happens in our world according to our credo "The truth and nothing but the truth" and neither subversive elements nor Siedler scum will be able to stop us.
