Sunday, September 29

TOUR: I've received many requests for tour dates of the "Magic" (World Gold Gymnasics) Tour. Here is a link to the latest listing of tentative dates. Keep in mind, these are not finalized yet.

Tour dates...

SITE: I am pleased to announce that my page has won it's first award. It has been deemed "an outstanding Web site" by the WebCrawler Select Editorial Team. I must thank Larry Stevens for the graphics he created for me as well as some of the HTML and layout work.

SITE: I've been having problems with the guestbook. It's still on the server, but the link they gave me does not work.

TV: I didn't critique Kerri on 90210, but I will for this occasion. She was great! First, Kerri's comedy debut in the two ESPN promos, and now she's in a Weekend Update sketch. Kerri seemed more relaxed than on 90210, and her lines were better than the 90210 cameo. Supporting Kerri were "Kippy" and a Bela imposter. If you missed it, NBC will probably rerun it.

Saturday, September 28

TV: Kerri will appear on Saturday Night Live tonight.

Friday, September 20

TV: ESPN has two promotional spots featuring Kerri. They aren't too different from each other.

NEWS: Kerri's reason for not doing the Hancock tour: Her ankle isn't healed enough to do the full routines that the tour would require. She also liked the line-up of gymnasts slated to appear.

NEWS: Kerri has not ruled out trying for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. "Anything is possible, we will just have to wait and see. Besides I've never been to Australia."

TOUR: ABC will broadcast one of the Hancock tour stops this Monday (September 23rd) evening -- I saw the commercial. The September 21st stop will air from 7-8PM CST.

TV: As many of you already know, the women's portion of the World Team Championships will be on ESPN this Monday, also.

NEWS: (Dated) On August 30th, Kerri sunk her feet in plaster at Planet Hollywood and donated her gold-medal leotard to the chain's traveling collection.

ICE CAPADES: Of the 64 tour stops, Kerri will appear at ten of the dates in major markets. The tour starts October 4-6 in Anaheim and ends in June '97 in Phoenix.

Wednesday, September 18

TV: Kerri was on the Today Show this morning, and she also appeared with Jair Lynch on MTV during the 2 o'clock hour. They announced The World Gold Gymnastics Tour (aka the Magic tour). It will be a 50 city tour spanning the rest of 1996 and early 1997. The 24-city 1996 portion will begin on October 26th in Hartford, CT and will end in December. I have no information on when tickets go on sale yet.

TV: The promo Kerri shot for ESPN is finally airing regularly. Make sure you get to see it, because you will not be disappointed.

Friday, September 13

NEWS: Leigh Steinberg, Kerri's agent, apologized for his intoxication which resulted in rear-ending a car. "Role models have to address their failures as well as their achievements," he stated in a letter to the Los Angeles Times. (Ed. note: "Role model"? Was he talking about himself?) Apparently, Steinberg drank a little too much at a charity fundraiser for one of his clients that evening.

Thursday, September 12

NEWS: Kerri's endorsement offers include a car company, a cereal maker, soft drink and pain reliever manufacturers, a clothing line, more books, and a television movie.

NEWS: Leigh Steinberg appears to not like Kerri's voice. He would like her to take coaching to help her speak in lower tones.

NEWS: Kerri gave her famous Ace bandage away at The All-Star Cafe last weekend.

TV: The clip of Kerri's vault and a brief conversation about her occured on the September 10th edition of Later with Greg Kinnear on NBC.

Wednesday, September 11

TOUR: Every Mag7 gymnast, besides Kerri, has inked a contract for the John Hancock tour.

NEWS: Kerri's agent, Leigh Steinberg, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving over the weekend. His luxury car rear-ended another vehicle in Newport Beach. No one was injured in the accident, and he was released on $1400 bail Saturday. A blood alcohol test was given, but I don't have the results yet. Steinberg will appear in court in about two weeks.

TV: As you know by now, the ESPN gymnastics event listed in TV guides across the country never aired on Monday. I have been informed that it should be on this Monday instead.

Monday, September 9

BOOK: Here is the cover of the upcoming book, The Magnificent Seven: The Authorized Story of American Gold:

Book Cover

TV: A gymnastics event is on ESPN tonight at 8PM CST. I'm not sure what it is, though.

Sunday, September 1

NEWS: From the Associated Press: A Strug Foundation will be created to handle some of Kerri's earnings. The Foundation will help support the Special Olympics and women's health issues, such as breast cancer.

TV: From the AP: Kerri may have an appearance on a television movie.

TOUR: From the AP: Kerri will participate in the Magic Tour and in a three-minute gymnastics routine in the Ice Capades, according to her agent, Leigh Steinberg. The Ice Capades has three dates in September and the rest are in the first half of 1997.

TOUR: Leigh Steinberg said Kerri will more than likely appear at several stops on the John Hancock tour in addition the Magic Tour and the Ice Capades.

BOOKS: From the AP: Kerri signed a contract to do a children's book.
