The Cool Beans Award

Cool Beans? Since everyone else has some nifty award to give to websites they admire, I decided I should be opinionated and do the same thing. I remember when I was in high school (long, long ago) one of the popular sayings was "cool beans", and being in a retro frame of mind, I figured I might as well use it. This award, although germinating in my mind for quite awhile, was created on January 11, 1998.

How Can I Get It? If you would like to nominate your site or someone else's site for my award, email me and I will take a look at it. In your email, please include the following or the site will not be considered:

Yeah, But What Are You Looking For? Well, since this award is totally my own opinon, I get to be rather subjective about what I choose. Here are a few things I like/dislike about web pages:

the layout should be logical and very accessible
I don't have a good relationship with frames
if the site is so graphics intensive that it takes me longer than 60 seconds to load, I'm not happy
NO adult content is allowed
a page of links, while often useful, do not reflect this award
I like snappy designs, something that's unique and gives me a sense of the person who authored the page
while most of my online trolling has been limited to Star Trek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, other TV and movie sites, some academic research and HTML helps, I'm interested in looking at pretty much any well-designed, eyecatching site
I do receive several nominations that are not given the award for one reason or another. I'm not being snotty, I simply want this award to be a sign of excellence. I'll give you positive, constructive feedback whether or not you win. And no, I don't think my own website is perfect, but it is constantly improving.
