Ken Layton pictures (he visited on a sunny day and ventured up further on the property than I did).
Ken visited the place long before I did, when the paint on the sign was new, and there were actually letters on the marquee, though they were not very optimistic.
A newer picture of the box office. I can just see some neon tubing left on the sign. Submitted by Ken Layton.
Screen 1 after storm damage.
This is a shot with screen 2 at the far right. This screen is all metal and was added in 1978 when the theater was twinned.
This is a photo of screen 1, the large original screen (made of wood & asbestos). Line this photo up with the one of screen 2 for a panoramic view of the field.
This is the snack bar after the fire and flood. You can see the water line on the front of the counter.
Projection booth for screen 1. This is what happens when vandals get into the building! --Ken Layton
Here is a picture of screen # 2 which is all metal. If it had a good pressure washing and a coat of paint, it would be as good as new.
This photo was taken by Pat Slusher, jr. of Centralia, Wash. who graciously lent me this photo which was taken in 1999. --Ken Layton
The marquee has been purchased by Duke Roda, who will restore it and plans to display it near Interstae 5 in the area. On April 8, 2002, he had the sign removed.
While it was briefly on the ground you could see detail that you couldn't see before. This star had the only visible damage to the glass tubing on the whole sign
