Jack Dawson

Leonardo DiCaprio portrays the wandering artist Jack Dawson, the third class savior to Rose Bukater in every way. Orphaned at the age of fifteen, Jack learns to survive on his own and live life to the absolute fullest. He wins his ticket on TITANIC in a lucky game of poker and claims "It was the best thing that ever happened to him", dispite TITANIC'S doomed fate, as it brought him to Rose.



Rose DeWitt Bukater

Caught in a dangerous cycle of wealth and snobbery, Rose, played by Kate Winslet, is saved by life-loving Jack Dawson dispite the differences in their social classes. Their romance is what keeps her living when the tradgedy of TITANIC strikes. Beautiful and rebellious, Rose breaks free of a chained engagement and a social expectation thanks to the strength she finds within herself.



Caledon Hockley


Rose's wealthy and arrogant fiance, played by Billy Zane, seeks to control and own Rose through means of expensive gifts and dazzling diamonds. A manipulative and coniving man, he would stop at nothing to keep Rose away from her third class love and safe in his pocketbook.



Ruth DeWitt Bukater


Frances Fisher portrays Rose's snobbish mother who strives to rest her entire future on the frail shoulders of her daughter. Believing Rose should marry for the wealth and security it would bring her family, not love, she dispises the match between Rose and Jack.



Margaret "Molly" Brown


The catalyst Molly Brown is played by Kathy Bates. Called "New Money" by her wealthy adversaries, Molly is disliked by her wealthy counterparts because while she aspires to be a part of their social circles, she dispises their snobbery. She plays a huge part in helping Jack survive a night in the "snake pit" of rich society so that he may stand beside Rose unfettered.
