Air Force One

Suspension of Disbelief is the single most important aspect in the enjoyment of a movie. This movie is a prime example. Realists will complain that something like this could not and would not ever happen. But, when you suspend that disbelief and consider, "What if it did happen?", this movie is very exciting and entertaining.
The movie centers around the hijacking of Air Force One, the plane of the President of the United States, played by Harrison Ford. At heart, this is a very traditional movie, but it is the little things that make it unique. The fact that the Vice president is a woman, played by Glenn Close, is presented as nothing out of the ordinary, and that's how it feels.
Even though there has never been a woman V.P., it makes you wonder why not? I also liked the harshness of the villains. If one of their demands were not met, then they immediately followed through with their threats. No hesitation. No remorse. That is what vilainy is all about. In the same sense, I liked the dedication and sacrifice that others gave for their leader. In a way, I felt a sense of pride and patriotism.
Any problems I had with the movie were small ones. I thought the ending could have been better, but as a whole I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
