Face Off
Large Popcorn
This movie was almost the best movie of 1997. It had some of the best acting I had ever seen, and I've seen a lot of movies. The story centers around Castor Troy(Nicolas Cage) and Sean Archer(John Travolta). Archer is a special agent chasing Troy, a terrorist.
Through a special operation, Archer "borrows" Troy's face in order to infiltrate his world. But Troy, who was thought dead, is alive and faceless, and decides to borrow Archer's face. This role reversal creates the superb acting of the movie. The best part was when Troy has to pretend to be Archer pretending to be Troy.
It sounds confusing, but is done perfectly. The only problem I had with the movie was the agonizingly long and unecessary chase sequence at the end that cost it a box of Raisinets. The movie would have been just as good, if not better without it. Otherwise this was definately one of the most interesting and original movies of the year.
