The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Medium Popcorn
I was torn between medium and large for this movie, and no matter which I picked, I still wasn't happy. I really like this movie for several reasons. One is that it was written by Michael Crichton, one of the best authors in recent history. I like this story because it allows us to believe things about dinosaurs that no one ever even considered.
The T-Rex's, for example, are not simply terrorising the humans, but are in fact protecting their young. This parental instinct is rarely thought to even exist to the dinosaurs. Another plus for the movie is Jeff Goldblum returning to play Ian Malcolm. He was my favorite character from the first movie, and definately the best written character.
One part I had trouble getting past was the premise that these people were stupid enough to try this again. I mean, if you escape from the lion's den with only scrapes and shredded clothes, you don't put band-aids on your wounds, change clothes and try the back door. I was happy, though, to see the story expanded off of the island and into the streets of America. What I didn't like was that it came across too much like a Godzilla movie.
But all-in-all I thought they did a good job, especially when you consider that the audience already knew what to expect from the special effects of the dinosaurs.
