Who Is Mulan?
Mulan Mulan is a young girl who desperately wants to prove herself an adult. When her father is conscripted into the Chinese army to fight against the invading Hun forces, sheimpulsively takes his place.

Mulan has many adventures throughout the movie and becomes a heroine in a country where males are valued more highly than women! She proves her adulthood by saving the life of the emperor.

Mulan is voiced by two highly talented performers! Ming-Na Wen provides her with a speaking voice and Lea Salonga provides her beautiful singing voice!
Ming-Na

Ming-Na Wen

date of birth: November 20, 1963
place of birth: Macau, China
education: Carnegie Mellon University
spouse: Eric Michael Zee (June 16, 1995)

She has been involved in a number of movies in recent years. Her most famous roles were her portrayal of 'June" in the 1993 movie "The Joy Luck Club" and Chun-Li in 1995's Street Fighter (with Jean Claude Vanne Dame).

LEA SALONGA

Lea's most famous role for musical theatre lovers came in 1989, when Lea was selected by producer Cameron Macintosh, from thousands of hopeful auditionees, to play the role of Kim in the hit musical Miss Saigon in London (for which she received a Laurence Olivier Award.)

In 1991 went on to portray that role on Broadway where she garnered the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. While in Miss Saigon Lea recorded the singing voice of Jasmine for the Walt Disney animated hit Aladdin, and soon after recorded the role of Tuptim in a new recording of The King And I with Julie Andrews, Ben Kingsley and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

In 1993 Lea played the role of street waif Eponine in the Broadway production of Les Miserables, then flew to Los Angeles to perform the song "A Whole New World" at the 65th Annual Academy Awards, where the song won an Oscar. Her beautilfully clear singing voce should do Mulan as much justice as she did Jasmine (who can forget "A Whole New World").
