RUTH~The Unofficial Guide

RUTH are Matt Hales (25), Ben Hales (23), Matt Vincent-Brown (26) and Stephen Cousins (27).

It all started in 1988 when Matt, Ben and Matt VB form a band, and the story of how Stephen joined is long and complicated. Go to RUTH's website for that bit. On the 12th of February RUTH was formed. A Brian Wade spotted RUTH and liked the tunes. RUTH, with Brian and partner Geri, get an advert on MTV and play the Greenbelt festival, for the first of many times. RUTH create their fanclub, ALAN. To join go to RUTH's website. B & G form a record company called ARC and sign RUTH. RUTH earn enough money to do 3 singles and an album. They release 'I Don't Know' on 31st October 1995. They release 'Fear of Flying' in March '96 and reached No. 97. In September '96 they release 'Valentine's Day' which just misses the Top100. March '97 sees the re-release of 'I Don't Know', which RUTH performed on The National Lottery Wednesday Draw. It is playlisted by Radio 1, and gets played on average 4 times a week. It reaches No. 67 according to RUTH, but No. 48 according to Woolworths. RUTH then re-release 'Fear of Flying' on 28th July '97, and appear on Trouble for a whole week! Our Sky system remained on Trouble the whole time, with the remote control hidden in a drawer, The video set to record for 5 minutes every half an hour.

RUTH tell the story much better, so go to their site, NOW! Their site includes a shop, lyrics, tour dates, an interview with Matt Hales, a full Biography, and a form to fill in if you want to join ALAN. By the way, the RUTH starwars style T-shirt is really cool. I've got one, and I'm wearing it right now. Buy the 7'' too! It's cool, if you have a record player. Also, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE buy all their singles and everything, coz they deserve the No. 1 slot, and they can't get it without your help.

THERE ARE CLIPS OF RUTH'S 'I DON'T KNOW' AND 'FEAR OF FLYING'!!! THEY'RE HERE!
