The (Andy) Dick Digger*

You can read the story behind this page...

...or just get straight to the fun.

You've found yourself at a little collection of links and things relating to Andy Dick.

Stage

Andy has a live show that he's been developing since he was 19 years old. I saw it in June 1998 in New York City, under the name of Andy Dick's Circus of Freaks. More recently, the show was performed weekly in Los Angeles as Andy Dick and the Bitches of the Century. The show is a mixture of comedy, storytelling and music.
*
Speaking of music, he has been busy with his band The Bitches of the Century.
*
For a while, Andy honed his skills at Un-Cabaret, a weekly gathering of L.A. comics.

Television

Get ready for The Andy Dick Show, coming to MTV Feb 27.
*
NBC plans to bring us Go Fish during the midseason, featuring Andy as a high school drama teacher.
*
Of course, there's NewsRadio, where Andy played Matthew Brock, bumbling reporter.
*
Before that, he was in the cast of The Ben Stiller Show.
*
This summer Andy was the "perfect MC" for the 2000 X Games.
*
He hosted an episode of VH1's The List. Topic: most fashionable artist (my vote is for Beck).
*
In an episode of Star Trek Voyager in 1998 he played EMH-2, a holographic ship doctor.
*
At the 1997 Emmy Awards show, he gave a sort-of lecture/demo on physical comedy.
*
He played two recurring characters on Letterman. I don't have any links for that, but here he is cracking up Dave as a guest.
*
He played Zach Smart, son of Maxwell, in Fox's short-lived revival of Get Smart.
*
He sang a duet with SpaceGhost. Here's the transcript.

Film

Andy appeared as himself in Being John Malkovich.
*
He played a government worker in Amy Heckerling's Loser. (The New York Times said approvingly about this one that he "seems to be specializing in weirdo-behind-a-desk roles.")
*
In Road Trip he played what one reviewer called "a freaky goober desk clerk."
*
Andy was Cynthia Nixon's best friend Spaz in Advice From a Caterpillar.
*
He played Father Buñuel in Picking Up the Pieces, which starred Woody Allen.
*
He went Disney and played Kramer in Inspector Gadget.
*
Ben Stiller cast Andy in three of his movies (that I know of): he plays the proprietor of a pirate video concern in Reality Bites, and was the Medieval Host in The Cable Guy. He was also in an early one called Elvis Stories. More recently, Andy appeared with Ben Stiller in Permanent Midnight as a guest on a talk show.
*
He plays a sheriff in the satire Ted (as in Kasczynski).
*
He played Tony in Bongwater.
*
More Disney: he provided the voice for Nuka in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride.
*
He was Teddy in Best Men.
*
He played Abel to Lou Ferrigno's Cain in The Making of...And God Spoke. (I saw this film years ago and still remember how funny it was. See it.)
*
Ouch! He co-starred with Pauly Shore in In the Army Now.
*
He was a "smogcaster" in Double Dragon.

Internet

Andy's official web site has been launched.
*
He's also been making shorts for LoadTV.

*For the gutterminds out there: shame on you. The title is actually a double entendre, see. It's a page for those who dig Andy Dick, and it took a some digging to put it together. It also refers to an unrelated film.
