Grandmother
Rain pouring down, drenching my overcoat,
uncomfortable silence penetrating my ear.
Strangers surround me, only you know me.
The canopy above is useless.
It can't cover the pain and sorrow.
But it hides the bright sun,
and it blocks the rain.
Father's muffled whimpering,
assures me I'm not alone.
Looking away, as they lower you down,
into the ground.
In the sky, a flash of light,
a last goodbye.
I lost my world today,
in the blink of an eye.
