2000-JAN-04: Sandra's big New Year's Eve party which took place in Austin, TX on December 31 is still a big mystery. There is not much information available for public. It is admitted also in this article from Austin360. However, you can find some other news there (e.g. Sandy will be on the cover of the April issue of Premiere magazine, whoohoo!!!):
"I was really counting on Sandra Bullock's big bash to fill this space with big bold-faced names, but I haven't been able to find a single person who was there. Since the hostess flew in security and catering from L.A., and had the hired help (including houseband The Scabs) sign nondisclosure agreements, there's almost no chance of leakage. But I did talk to a woman whose friend was there and she said that with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman a couple of no-shows, the biggest star of the night was Bullock's Texas limestone mansion. Asked when the house will be finished (said to be a sore spot with Sandy), builder Benny Daneshjou wouldn't comment beyond saying that things are progressing as planned."

2000-JAN-06: Showbiz Scoop has another article about those very well-known projects: "Wonder Woman" and "Crazy Jane" (both are based on comic book characters). It is said that Warner Brothers (movies production company) is more than anxious to franchise Sandra Bullock for the flicks. I'm really curious if Sandy finally takes the roles. 2000-JAN-07: A Czech computer games magazine Level (their internet website) has some news about the "Tomb Raider" movie (Sandy was one of the candidates for the main role). The news says that there was an online chat with Nell McAndrews (Lara Croft model/lookalike) at MegaStar website on December 15, 1999. Nell is most likely to star in the movie. Well, it seems like Sandy is out of the project for good. What a shame, isn't it?

2000-JAN-11: This article from Austin360 says that Bob Schneider, the talented, yet unsigned Austin singer-songwriter (and anyway, also Sandra Bullock's boyfriend) who fronts the Scabs, is being considered for the David Letterman show, according to Dave's musical booker Sheila Rogers. Schneider wrote and performed several songs for the upcoming Liam Neeson Mafia flick "Gun Shy," produced by and co-starring Sandra Bullock. He croons on "Round and Round" with Sandra's opera singer mom, Helga, on the soundtrack LP, slated to hit stores February 1, 2000 on Hollywood Records.

2000-JAN-12: Oh, no!!! Well, our worst dreams came true and it really happened. According to this Hollywood.com article Sandra Bullock DID NOT win this year's Favorite Motion Picture Actress award at People's Choice Awards on January 9. Julia Roberts got it. But who cares, we definitely know who rules, don't we? :-) Sandy is the queen forever.

2000-JAN-16: New York Daily News: According to this article Sandra Bullock bought a townhouse in SoHo in New York, NY for $3.15 million. The Sullivan St. building had been on the market for $3.4 million since early 1998. It was owned by architect James Rossant, who added a dining room to the back of the house with a garden feel. But the asking price was "high" for a 25-foot-wide townhouse, according to a rival broker.

2000-JAN-17: Ain't It Cool News: Well, here we go. After all those gossips, doubts and expectations it seems like the fact is now confirmed. Sandra Bullock will NOT play Wonder Woman in the new Warner Bros. movie. The article says that Catherine Zeta Jones has been cast for the role. However, there is still a chance for Sandy to play a comic character (remember Crazy Jane project), it's all up to her. I wonder if it also ends up like this or not.

2000-JAN-18: E! Online - This news article has a short note about Sandra's old movie "Fire on the Amazon" which was made in 1991. The movie was never officially released. Now it seems like some people want to prepare a big comeback and release the movie into the theaters! For all those of you who don't know the flic, Sandra Bullock and Craig Sheffer have a sex scene in it. The movie is now rated NC-17 by MPAA. I don't get it. Does somebody want to ruin Sandra's career and her girl-next-door image or just attract more people to her?
"Meanwhile, in other rating news, the upcoming Sandra Bullock film Fire in the Amazon has also been slapped with an NC-17 for a sex scene. The film features Bullock and Craig Sheffer downing a hallucinogenic-laced cocktail then ripping off their clothes and going at it. The Amazon filmmakers are also appealing the decision."

2000-JAN-20: FOX News has more news on "Fire on the Amazon" comeback. It really seems that Roger Corman (B-movie king and producer of the film) will not give up that easily. He doesn't want to accept an NC-17 rating which this movie has got from MPAA. This rating namely means that some theaters and video stores in USA won't take the movie. And it is not acceptable for Corman. I really wonder what Sandra Bullock is going to do about all this affair which definitely seems to be aimed only at making some profit out of her big popularity. Sandra Bullock herself once said (in 1995):
"I was young and inexperienced. Believe me, you don't see anything of mine in that movie. And I don't care how famous I get, nobody is ever going to want to see that movie. It is a horrible piece of garbage."
Well, since that time, many things have changed. Sandy got famous. She became a star. And in this beautiful time of light, somebody is trying to awake the dark side...

2000-JAN-22: According to this article from Austin360, Sandra Bullock was recently interviewed on Rosie O'Donnell Show. They say that Sandy was talking about how frustrated she had become with delays on the completion of her Lake Austin dream house in Austin, TX. The author of this article also mentioned the house in SoHo in New York, NY which Sandy had bought a few days ago... Does Sandy plan to leave Austin and move to New York?
"When she [Sandra] talked about how frustrated she had become with delays on the completion of her Lake Austin dream house on the Rosie O'Donnell Show recently, it was the first evidence that our sweetheart may have seen enough of this slacker rodeo. The news from New York that she just plucked down $3 million for a Soho townhouse hinted that Austin's celebrity pool might soon drop by 25 percent (leaving only three truly famous people in town). 2000-JAN-23: APB News has a review of Scott Turow's "Personal Injuries" (a book about a prosecutor who tries to root out legal-system fraud) also mentions a possible movie version of this bestseller. Dustin Hoffman is expected to play the main role (lawyer Robbie Feaver). As for the main female role (the FBI agent Evon Miller), an actress to play opposite Hoffman has yet to be named, Anne Heche is one star who could pull it off. There's also Jodie Foster, Sandra Bullock, Linda Hamilton and Rene Russo. Well, I haven't heard about this project before, though I think Sandy would be great in it. The description of the character is really very interesting:
"In most works of this kind, there's a female adversary who initially despises the protagonist but, like the reader or movie-viewer, eventually succumbs to his charm. Here we have Evon Miller, the FBI agent assigned to watch Feaver and keep him on the straight and narrow. But she's in as much deep water as Feaver. Unsure of her sexuality, her attraction and repulsion to Feaver confuses her and causes her to question both her career and life choices."

2000-JAN-26: Yippee! Finally, it has come out! The trailer of Sandra's new upcoming movie "28 Days" is now available to download at Loew's Trailerpark! The film is about a big-city newspaper columnist who is forced to enter a drug and alcohol rehab center after stealing a limousine and crashing it into a house. Now you can experience a few moments of absolutely beautiful Sandy Bullock! The movie hits the theaters in USA on April 7, 2000!

2000-JAN-31: According to this short gossip article from Calgary Sun, they say that Sandra Bullock has decided to become a single mom and plans to make actor Matthew McConaughey (her ex-boyfriend) the dad - no strings attached. Matthew has been seen exiting a fertility clinic where it's reported he's made a sperm donation for use when Sandra needs it.

2000-FEB-01: The Orange County Register: Here you can read the interview with Sandra Bullock. She talks about the things she likes doing in her spare time, she also recalls the times of being in L.A. After that, Sandy mentions her previously announced break and the new projects she has worked on. In a really nice way she describes a day-to-day life of a star and what it means for her. Near the end, Sandy also gives her opinion about the "competition" of female stars in Hollywood. Enjoy it!

2000-FEB-02: Oh, I'm so sorry that I have to announce this but Sandra Bullock did not win the Teen.com 1999 Entertainment Awards - an online poll at Teen.com website. All our efforts were not good enough to help Sandy to win this poll. I feel so ashamed. :-( Sandra Bullock ended as low as in the 6th place (!!!) only with 1919 votes. That's a catastrophe! Sarah Michelle Gellar topped the list with 5271 votes followed by Julia Roberts (2478) and Katie Holmes (2100). Well, I just hope it will be better next time. Sandy, you are the number one forever!

2000-FEB-03: Here's more news on Sandra's recent decision to have a baby. This article from National Enquirer says that Sandra Bullock still doesn't know who the lucky father will be. There are two men to pick from: old beau Matthew McConaughey and new beau, Texas singer Bob Schneider. Bob insists he's in love with Sandy and wants her to have his baby. But Matthew began calling again, begging her to take him back. The source yet says that Sandy doesn't want to be a single mom as it was mentioned in the gossip a few days ago. The article also contains some Sandra's comments:
"I'm ready to have a baby now and my parents are pressuring me to make them grandparents. My problem is: Who's the father going to be?"
"After I ended my relationship with Matt, I thought I was in love with Bob. But now Matt wants me back - and I still love him!"

Just read them all and make your own point of view. Anyway, if you are a real fan of Sandra Bullock you don't need to read anything at all. Sandra stars in the movie!!! 2000-FEB-07: Mr Showbiz: Well, here are the first Box Office results. Sandra's new movie "Gun Shy" earned around $700,000 this past weekend. Considering the fact that the movie was played only in 296 selected theaters in the bigger cities the results are not that bad. Especially if it's compared to another movie with limited release "Simpatico" which made just $500,000 from 283 theaters despite the presence of famous stars (Sharon Stone, Nick Nolte, Jeff Bridges). "Scream 3" topped the list with $35.2 million.

2000-FEB-08: PRNewswire - Nominees for the Sixth Annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards scheduled to air in June on FOX were announced today. Sandra Bullock has been nominated for the Favorite Actress Award in a category Comedy/Romance (Forces of Nature) against Drew Barrymore and Julia Roberts. The other nominees include Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Tom Hanks, Ben Affleck, Mike Meyers, John Travolta, Ashley Judd, Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, Cher and Ricky Martin. 2000-FEB-09: This movie has been mentioned so many times recently. And now it seems like it will definitely come out. After all Corman's unsuccessful efforts to release "Fire on the Amazon" into theaters without getting an NC-17 rating the movie is now scheduled to be released on DVD on May 16, 2000 (courtesy of Reel.com). Additionally, a whole new official FOTA website has been set up! It contains a movie poster (well, it is not real Sandy on it - the hair and face is Sandra from "A Time to Kill" movie, the lips are from who-knows-where and the eyes are devilish - now who makes the fake pictures, hehe) and a movie trailer in two qualities. So, the movie will be released... Either into theaters or on DVD. Well, I will be missing those low quality pirate VHS copies offered on auctions for $100. :-)

2000-FEB-10: Business Wire - Glamour magazine's March issue (Feb. 15) offers experts' advice for boosting your charisma - that magic that surrounds you and makes others want to do things for you. They consider five common types of charisma: Kick-butt charisma, Sexual charisma, IQ charisma, Cute charisma and Cool charisma. Sandra Bullock is mentioned in the "Cute charisma" type description along with Meg Ryan and Julia Roberts:
"[People with cute charisma] draw people to them because they're not intimidating or aloof. Use humor and positive enthusiasm to make people feel happy when they're around you."

2000-FEB-12: USA Today: This article talks about the new Hollywood's projects focused on beauty pageant walkways. After last year's "Drop Dead Gorgeous" and "Happy, Texas" yet more new movies are to be released this year. One of them is Sandra's "Miss Congeniality" (in December) which is a comedic action film starring Sandra Bullock as a government agent sent to infiltrate a beauty pageant to stop a terrorist attack. Here's what Mark Lawrence (executive producer and writer) had to say about the project:
"The glut of pageant projects can only be attributed to the movie industry habit of unknowingly developing films in clusters."
"[Miss Congeniality is not] the more typical sendup of the beauty pageant. Sandy (Bullock's) character goes in thinking this will be the worst imaginable thing and comes out thinking it was one of the most positive things in her life."

2000-FEB-16: Entertainment Weekly has a short preview article about the upcoming movie "28 Days" (starring Sandra Bullock, Elizabeth Perkins, Diane Ladd, Viggo Mortensen, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Mike O'Malley, Steve Buscemi). It brings up some facts and gossips connected with the movie. There are some quotes by Betty Thomas (the director) in the article, regarding the production and "why they chose Sandy" stuff.

2000-FEB-19: U-Wire - This year A&M will host the 7th Texas Film Festival, an event dedicated to giving independent and student filmmakers a chance to showcase their efforts. The festival consists of five nights of feature films and shorts with filmmaking workshops held in the afternoons. This year's festival also features more short films and documentaries than normal. The festival also gained some attention with the announcement that Sandra Bullock would be attending it. However, because the production date of her next film (probably "Miss Congeniality") was moved up, Sandy cannot attend the festival.

2000-FEB-24: Here's more news on "Fire on the Amazon" re-release (bought at the AFM for Germany Highlight Films). The article from VARIETY.COM says that Roger Corman decided to wait for the right time - until Sandra Bullock and Craig Sheffer have become famous. The movie will come out either in its original form with the R - or with the addition (more graphic lovemaking scene), and unrated. Near the end of the article, there's a short note about Corman's waiting for Sandra's opinion (he sent a print to her). Though she looks nude, Corman assures there is strategically placed nude-looking gauze.

According to this article from VARIETY.COM, director Hugh Wilson has parted company with the Castle Rock pic "Miss Congeniality," in which Sandra Bullock stars as an undercover cop in a beauty contest. The film is supposed to be on the runway April 17 so they'll hire a new helmer quickly...

2000-FEB-26: Entertainment Wire - An array of stars from the worlds of film, music, sports and television were announced today as nominees for Nickelodeon's 13th Annual Kids' Choice Awards. The event, which celebrates the power of kids in the new millennium, will air from the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, on Saturday, April 15 from 8-9:30 P.M. ET/PT. Sandra Bullock is nominated in two categories: Favorite Movie Actress (against Drew Barrymore, Melissa Joan Hart and Julia Roberts) and Favorite Movie Couple (with Ben Affleck) - both awards for "Forces of Nature."

2000-MAR-01: Reuters - After director Hugh Wilson exited the Warner Brothers project last week over creative differences, Donald Petrie is in negotiations to direct Sandra Bullock in the comedy "Miss Congeniality," which is expected to begin production by the end of the month. Bullock portrays an FBI agent who goes undercover as Miss New Jersey at a beauty pageant in order to thwart the efforts of a group that threatens to bomb the event. The film is slated for a holiday release.

2000-MAR-03: E! Online: That Lara Croft is everywhere. One may think it's all over and suddenly it comes back again. As I wrote some time before, Sandra Bullock would not play Lara in the new "Tomb Raider" movie. This article has some tidbits and gossips concerning the movie. It says that Angelina Jolie should be that lucky actress to play the main character role. However, there is still a note about Sandra Bullock in the article. Well, we'll see later. Here are the requirements for perfect Lara according to newsgroup... Would Sandy be able to meet all these? I'm sure she would:
"She must be a beauty, of course. She must be an athlete. Lara Croft is grace in motion and the actress who plays her must able to simulate Lara's gymnastic moves realistically. 2000-MAR-04: Is Sandra Bullock really loosing her girl-next-door image? This news from New York Daily News says that Sandy poses on the April cover of Premiere magazine in panties and a gauzy top. Inside, she can be seen smearing what appears to be papaya nectar over her breast - while flanked by two glassy-eyed, bare-chested studs. One of them holds a carving knife. Afterwards the article mentions Sandra's difficulty prepping for her new comedy-drama "28 Days" and how she checked into a Tucson clinic to research her role:
"I was there by myself, and it was soooo frightening. The other patients didn't want me to be there. I said, 'Let me just tell you my history and my troubles...' I just gave away everything in my life. And I sat there and said, 'This will either come around and slap me some other time, or they're going to embrace it.'"

2000-MAR-07: Mr Showbiz says that Oscar nominee Michael Caine has signed up for the upcoming movie "Miss Congeniality," a comedy starring Sandra Bullock as an FBI agent who goes undercover at a beauty pageant. Caine's character shows Sandy and other contestants how to look, walk, etc. Donald Petrie will direct the Castle Rock/Warner Bros. project.

2000-MAR-09: Hollywood.com has a very informative coverage on ShoWest 2000. ShoWest is the largest trade show in the world dedicated exclusively to the motion-picture exhibition industry. In other words, the annual four-day event is a schmooze fest where movie-studio types - with their requisite entourages of industry big wigs, producers, directors and famous stars - peddle films to theater and multiplex owners. Sony day at ShoWest Wednesday, and the studio trotted out such high-glam A-listers as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock and the Charlie's Angels troika of Drew, Cameron and Lucy to wow the theater owners on hand. But it was the Champ who really floored them.

2000-MAR-10: Oh, now I'm really pretty confused. The official "Fire on the Amazon" website is gone! It came so all of a sudden. As if the site has never been up. To make things more mysterious, even the page at Reel.com doesn't offer the DVD to pre-order anymore! Was it all just a dream? Did Sandy herself stop the efforts to release the movie? Or were there money problems? Rating? Copyright? Well, as of yet I can't provide more information. For the time being it seems like the project has been cancelled or at least stopped until further notice. Since the FOTA website disappeared the trailer links in my Videos section have not been active. Although the links are dead I decided to keep them there for now. Maybe the site will come back...

2000-MAR-12: As I mentioned a few days ago Sandra Bullock was at the ShoWest convention (trade show for movie theater owners) March 8 in Las Vegas. This article from Reuters has also another beautiful picture of Sandy at the Columbia Pictures luncheon. She was promoting her new movie "28 Days" there. In the flic Sandra stars as a New York writer who lives life in the fast lane until she enters a court-ordered rehab program. The movie hits the theaters in USA on April 14, 2000.

2000-MAR-14: Business Wire - "Two if by Sea" will be available on DVD March 21, catalog No. 14159 for $24.98. In this comedy, the FBI is on the trail of a petty thief played by Denis Leary and his girlfriend, played by Sandra Bullock. When they take up temporary residence in a beach house on a posh island, their love for each other is put to the ultimate test. DVD features include a behind-the-scenes featurette, the original theatrical trailer, cast and crew bios and filmographies, soundtrack selection and Dolby Digital 5.1 English and French audio with English, French and Spanish subtitles. DVD ROM content includes links to Morgan Creek and Warner Bros. web sites.

2000-MAR-16: Some time ago I informed you about the ShoWest convention page at Hollywood.com. Now they also added a very cool video from the show - the event highlights (the video title is "ShoWest 2000 Highlights"). Sandra Bullock is also on screen but not too much. However, I think it's worth downloading. The videos are available in various formats (such as QuickTime, Windows Media and Real Video), each in two qualities. 2000-MAR-18: Do you remember that shocking interview and pictures from Premiere magazine? This article from Arizona Central has another point of view. Author Laurie Notaro doesn't like the way Sandy looks on those pictures. It seems like still more and more people think that Sandra changed her girl-next-door image. And considering the reactions, people seem to hate it more than to like it. I think it's Sandy's very own decision whether to be shy or provocating. It's her life and none of our business. Well, either that way or another, either cute or extravagant - you still rock, Sandy! Luv ya, baby!

2000-MAR-23: San Francisco Chronicle has more news on Sandra's "no-more-speeds" statement. Sandy is adamant on the subject of never doing another "Speed" movie. After the big success of the first film and its not that good sequel (though I still can't find out what people hate about the movie, I've watched it many times and I really love it - Sandy is simply wonderful) Sandra definitely decided not to make another sequel anymore:
"Never in a million years. Even if you offered me $20 million and threatened to stick needles in my eyes."

And now yet more speeding Bullock. This New York Daily News article reveals the fact that Sandra Bullock has been seeing neurologists to put an end to some excruciating headaches. She recently revealed in an interview with Premiere magazine that they started in January after she hit her head while snowboarding in Sun Valley, Idaho. Bullock's rep, Pat Kingsley, assures the reporters that she is going to be fine. Uff!!!

2000-MAR-24: According to this article from New York Daily News Sandra Bullock sure had tongues wagging at Fred Segal in Los Angeles Wednesday as she methodically went through the store's maternity department looking at outfits. I wonder what this means. Is she pregnant? Nevertheless, when a fellow shopper tried to pepper Bullock with the obvious question, the actress responded:
"You never know. Everyone seems to be spitting out children nowadays."

2000-MAR-25: Now all of you luckies outthere who live in the USA and have the opportunity to visit your local cinema, do not waste a single moment and go to see the movie "Gun Shy" as soon as possible. It should be now playing in all theaters across USA. So check out your local listings and enjoy the movie! For us Europeans, we all have to wait until June when "Gun Shy" hits our cinemas. If you can't decide if to go to see the film (if you like Sandy don't even think about missing it) you can read these reviews (links below). 2000-MAR-26: Jam! Showbiz: Do you remember Matthew McConaughey and his naked bongo incident from October 1999? Here is Sandra's attitude to the whole thing. Sandra Bullock admits she was shocked when she learned her former beau Matthew McConaughey had been charged in Austin, TX last year for resisting arrest. Matt was arrested after neighbours complained of loud music coming from his home. The police who answered the call found Matthew dancing naked and playing the bongos. Here are Sandy's comments:
"It freaked me out because Matthew isn't the kind of guy to get out of hand, but when I learned what happened, I understood perfectly."
"Matthew looks gorgeous naked, he should be naked as much as possible until things start falling."

2000-MAR-27: This article from New York Daily News has a short note about Mr. Blackwell who created the best- and worst-dressed lists 40 years ago. You can read here what this man had to say about the fashion trends as well as dresses famous women should wear. He mostly criticizes, he doesn't like that extravagant and provocating stuff (e.g. Jennifer Lopez at the Grammys). And how's Sandy's look according to Mr. Blackwell? Well, no comment, he must be blind:

2000-MAR-29: VARIETY.COM: Sandra Bullock is in early talks with Universal Pictures to topline Kevin Williamson's romantic comedy "Her Leading Man." Williamson has described "Her Leading Man" as a "deconstruction" of the romantic comedy genre. Williamson will produce and direct the project through his Outer Banks Entertainment. Greg Berlanti will share writing duties while Julie Plec will co-produce.
