Prologue

he night air was crisp and cold as the young girl ran through the dark forest,  the only light came from the full moon the trees almost completely covered.  The girl stopped as she realized the trees thinned and the moon began to light the night sky once more, the snow glowed as it fell to the white ground.
She let out a sigh of relief, for she had gotten lost in the woods and was convinced something was following her.  She brushed her long golden hair off her shoulder, she began to hum to herself her sweet pure voice echoed through the woods, only then did she realize the complete silence of the night.  Then a shrill scream covered the sweet sound of her humming, she covered her ears as hundreds of birds fled the forest.  She questioned this for all her life she had lived in that forest and never had she seen birds fly away in such a frency of fear and panic.

The forest settled and was quiet again, she began to relax, she paused as a sound filled her ears, the sound of someone walking on the freshly fallen snow, fear filled her shivering body as she looked around, she froze for she was looking into the glowing eyes of a wolf,  it was humped over in the bushes it released a small growl as it prepared to lunge at it's prey.  She ran as fast as possible, her legs were numb as she ran from death,  she let out a small cry as a pain shot through her side, she forced herself to run.  She was slowing down she could feel it she let out another cry, louder then the last as she tumbled to the ground she tripped over something hidden in the snow.  She held her breath and squeezed her eyes shut expecting great pain, but nothing came she curiously looked around hoping she had lost the wolf, fear and anger filled her already clouded mind as she saw the half covered footsteps; she was running in circles and was where she started.  Another cry escaped her mouth, a cry of despair and the feeling of hope she no longer had.  She began to get up but she was immediately knocked back down with great force, pain began to move up her back as the sharp claws dug into her shoulder.  The forest echoed the despair and loneliness of her screams, the crisp, clean white snow was now stained red.  The half dead girl moaned quietly as the wolf silenced her, forever.
