Ever After: Desire, Defy, Escape

"Once upon a time, there was a young girl who loved her father very much..."

I saw this movie on opening night and I loved it. I had been looking forward to it since I first saw the preview. The Cinderella story is a classic, but I really wanted to see a new twist on it. Drew Barrymore gave a great performance as Danielle, the Cinderella character and I enjoyed her very much. The rest of the cast was good as well and the settings and costumes were magnificent. I love movies that are set in this time period (i.e. Restoration, The Man in the Iron Mask) partly because of the fabulous sets and costumes associated. I wrote a retelling/fanfic based on the movie called "A Tout Jamais" and the entire thing is on this site. Please read!

(3-22-99) Sure, Ever After won no Oscars and wasn't nominated, but did anyone catch the theme music from the movie in the tribute to all the entertainers that died last year? I certainly did and it made me very happy.
