Hollywood Gossips Film Review - Rush Hour 2
Just
like the success of Lethal Weapons’ series, Rush Hour is back with two
mismatched cops in Rush Hour 2. It is back with twice the fun, humor and action
stunts to combine together for an easygoing family action comedy,
Wholly-mouth,
international action superstar, Jackie Chan (Shanghai Noon, Rush Hour) and
mouth-watering, Chris Tucker (Fifth Element, Rush Hour) teams up again for a
second rush. This time being the best of mates, Tucker visits Chan on a vacation
to Hong Kong, but ends up in the middle of gangster warfare. The usual
determined and serious cop (Chan) wants revenge for the death of his father who
was betrayed and killed by the Trial Leader. With the triads escaping and
opening a casino in L.A. using counterfeit money, Chan and Tucker rush to L.A.,
before meeting two sexy female assassins (Zi Yi Zhang – Crouching Tiger Hidden
Dragon) (Roselyn Sanchez), as the fun continues.
Despite
Chan’s less action and quite predictable plot in this film, it seems to work
perfectly well along with Tucker’s non-stop mouth. Clearly seen by breaking
box-office records by taking $68 millions (US) on the opening weekend, again
reflects the martial arts obsession in the western world.
With
the usual humorous, Jackie Chan’s style outtakes at the end, along with the
film moving at a blazing rushing pace. Certainly justify this movie for all
action fans and families that enjoy a bit of laugh. With a possibility of Rush
Hour 3, then Rush Hour 2 is one movie not to be missed. As for its enjoyable
laughs and creative actions stunts, giving this movie a value of 8/10.

Review of Rush Hour 2 DVD
May I dare say, please give yourself permission to laugh out loud as you watch one of the most hilarious film ever produced by Jackie Chan's group. Tucker makes you laugh until you can't laugh anymore! I've watched this film at the George Street Cinemas in Sydney, Australia (Hoyt/Greater Union/Village's 18-screen cinema complex). The stunts and the kung fu fights are very well done. I loved every minute of it! You will love it too! Rating: 10/10 - Philippa Wong
