ADDITIONAL NOTES REGARDING ROMAN CLASS
Designed as a cheap and effective replacement for the dated MIRANDA class, the ROMAN Class Medium Duty Vessel has become the mainstay of the Federation fleet - patrolling all the major borders, and Federation space. At it's conception the ROMAN Class Medium Duty Vessel was amongst the fastest vessels in the fleet. Designed to make the most of it's low profile, the warp engines drive it to cruise speeds of up to Warp 8.5 for sustained periods of time. The vessel also embraces the properties of the design lineage it stems from - with no need for hull seperation the systems of the ROMAN Class Medium Duty Vessel are effectivly spread over it's 15 decks for the most efficiency. With it's substantial weaponary the ROMAN Class Vessel is also well suited for deployment during border disputes - such as the Klingon war beginning in 2409. |
The names for the Roman Class Vessels are picked from ancient civilisations. | The Naval Construction Codes from the Roman Class Vessels follow the form NCC-52xxx. |
