In 1960 about 62 children were in each class. At that time there were three parish priests. The students never left the room for other classes. There were no special classes such as gym, spanish, computer, art, or music. All of the students went home for lunch and then walked or were driven back to school at 1:00pm. As today, students wore uniforms. However, the uniforms for girls did not include pants, and boys had to wear ties. Sports were limited: cheerleading for girls and basketball for boys.
The eight grade class of 1981 was the first to plant a tree on school grounds which has become a tradition for each succeeding eight grade class as a part of their graduation activities.
The school mascot remains the tiger
and the school colors are blue and gold.
