Cat Care basics Welcome to my online cat care
guide. Caring for kittens and cats is important; not only you and your furniture, but to the
soft cuddly firballs too. Real world photos can be found at these sites: (the links are not
direct so you will have to do a little bit of looking around) I Dream Of Cats Worthington, Katherine Chaz's Place When introducing your cat to
his new home be sure to bring him home in a proper catcarrier, you can get one at your
local vet, or pet store. You should have a bed, cat food and a litter box for your cat
before you bring him home,as he will probably want to eat andhave a nap after he explores
the house. He may also want to just sit and look out a window at the neighbourhood,so a
perch or a comfortable place to sit should be placed by a window with a good view (i.e. no
walls or fences that are less than 3 meters away and a living tree in the window so that he
can watch birds.)
You must not let your cat out for a few days at the least because he might try to go to his
old home or get lost exploring outside.
He will want to explore yourhome when he gets there
because he will be curious about his new surroundings. Only let him explore where he will
be alowed to go (i.e. if you don't want him in the bed room(s)don't let him in
there). When you get your first cat be sure to take him or her to the vet to be
vaccinated against any feline contagins. We got the oldest three of our cats from the
people that lived nextdoor; the first cat ran away because something frightened him (we
don't know what); they were going to give the second away to some one because she was
stealing table scraps but he had befrended her; the third cat was abandoned when they
moved away; the fourth and youngest cat of ours came to us as a friendly wild tom whom
we believe did not want to fight. All of our cats dislike the car rides to the vet, since they
were not raised living in a moving car. We have not had any behavioral problems arise
from this. If you are a first time cat owner I do not adivse getting a cat straight from
the streets because you do not know what behavioral and physical problems he might
have, we knew our fourth cat for awhile before we adopted and neutered him. You can
get a cat from the local humane society. An 3-4 year old cat who likes children is
advisable for families with children. The Shopping List

Get thesebefore you get your cat so he will have an easier time ajusting to his
newsurroundings. My parents found that they had to experiment with what each of the
cats liked, but they bought the basics (above) before they picked up our very first cat
Spook. Your cat will try to communicate with you at
many times durring your owner-petrelationship. Because cats are not able to form words
with their tounges, lips, and teeth like humans, they must use vocal sounds and body
language to communicate. The family cats have always tried to communicate with us in
one manner or another; whether it is shreding the toilet paper or leading us to the food
dish.
Before getting your cat talk to a
few cat owners who live in your area, see which vet they reccomend and why they
reccommend him or her. Also, ask them general questions about cat care. Please purchase
a book on cat care as you may not always be able to access my site (i.e. travelling with
your cat on a long road trip in the middle of nowhere). Here are some books on cat diseases and breeds
