HOMERIC GREEK
Welcome to the free Homeric Greek study group, which is facilitated by Beth Piepenburg.  Using A Reading Course in Homeric Greek, each participant will submit the assignment to the facilitator, who will post the collation to the Greek Study, the home group of several study groups.  The purpose of this website will be to provide information about getting started, submitting assignments, and locating additional help.

To join actively, one must subscribe to the
Greek Study, purchase the designated study book, and set up Unicorn (or be Greek font compatible).  The Greek Study, an open mailing list, is dedicated for studying Ancient Greek and is a home group jointly used by several Greek study groups, such as the Homeric Greek.  Recently revised by Leslie Edwards in 2004, A Reading Course in Homeric Greek, was originally written by Raymond V. Schoder and Vincent C. Horrigan in 1945, 1985.  In order to resolve font compatibility issues, Kirk Lougheed's Unicorn is an aid to typing and sending off assignments.  For further information on subscribing, obtaining the designated text, and downloading Unicorn, please visit GETTING STARTED.

To participate in assignments, this website provides links for (1) a discussion group (2) scheduling (3) formatting  assignments, and  (4) submitting assignments.  If questions should arise concerning assignments, they may be posted to the discussion group link.  The scheduling link shows the submission due date for each lesson.  In order to facilitate collat-ing, the formatting link shows how the assignment should be formatted for submission.  When each person has submitted their answers, the facilitator will collate and post the answers to the
Greek Study, which will be sent to each subscriber.  For further information concerning the discussion group, scheduling, formatting, and submitting, see ASSIGN-MENTS.

Several types of HELPS will be provided by this Homeric Greek website.  For general ques-tions, go to the FAQ link.  For links that apply to the lessons, see Lesson links.  For Vocabu-lary helps, see the Vocabulary link.  For help with Fonts, see the Fonts link.  For typing Greek on the Keyboard, see the Keyboard link.  To contact me, see the Contact link.
