The average person may be surprised to know that there are 45 different rabbit breeds recognized by the American Rabbit Breeder's Association (ARBA) and even more recognized by other rabbit breeder associations (such as in Europe). Not only are there 45 breeds recognized in the United States presently, but there are more breeds that are still being considered by the ARBA, such as the Mini Plush Lop and the Velveteen Lop.
