||Hi my name is Robert M. Goodwin, as you should already know from my Homepage. I was born in upstate New York, and lived almost half of my life there. I had a brother and sister that were younger than me, they were my mom and first dad's children. I was four years old when my first dad died. His death was very painful for me, and I still haven't quite gotten over it. It was another year before my mom got remarried to the man that is now my father. They had another male child, he is still my youngest brother. Though I do love my new dad, I still miss my original dad. I was 7 years old when my dad decided to become a chiropractor. To make this possible we moved to Iowa for about four years so he could take classes. It was there that my mom first started to homeschool the four of us kids. It was here that I first got interested in the internet, but it was several more years before I had a computer that could do anything. Once my dad finished his classes we moved back to NY, so that he could set up an office. It was at this time that I got on the job training for being a secretary. It was quite an experience. It was at this point that I also purchased my first computer. It was on this computer that I wrote my first program at the age of 13. Though we liked the office we couldn't keep it going so my dad decided to go back to teaching spanish. It was this decision that made it so we had to move down to South Carolina. At first I thought that I'd hate it it down here, but the truth is it really isn't that bad. During the first year we lived down here, we went to a church that was about 30 minutes away from our house. There were only two kids my own age there so I didn't bother attending youth group. While we were going to this church my uncle BOB!! decided to hike the Appalachain Trail. He said that he'd like someone to go with him as a hiking partner and I told him I'd love to be his partner. He agreed and so we set off on Feb. 24, 2000. If you'd like to read our respective journals go to this site: http://home-educate.com/journal/. It was on this hike that I learned several useful things. I also was introduced into the sci-fi world by my uncle. After we finished 700 miles, we decided we had had enough for then. We might go back someday but not for awhile yet. When I got back from the trail, my parents decided to go to a different church. We went there for a year and then had to leave for reasons I'm not going to say on this website. However, it was at that church that I first learned how to run sound systems. I've learned more since then, but I'll never forget where I started. Since then I have managed sound systems for youth gatherings, my current church's praise band, and sunday morning services. I enjoy working with systems like that and I might actually consider doing it for my life's work. I was up in NY for the month of June, 2001. While I was up there, I job shadowed my uncle Jym, who is a system administrator for an internet service provider. It was here that I learned all sorts of neat internet web site making tricks. I learned how to use html coding to make web pages, as well as things like how to use remote accessing tools to mess with someone elses computer. I also built my second computer while I was there and installed, with my uncle's help, a lot of neat software. When I got back from NY, I had three new/old computers and close to 200 3.5 inch floppy disks. When I got back to South Carolina, a surprise waited for me. My parents changed churches while I was in NY. Though they did call to tell me it was still quite a shock. At this new church I had to start over and make new friends. It's was not that easy. However, it was these friends that inspired me to make this whole webpage. If you want to find out more about them go to "My Dedication Page". It was only very recently however, that I learned how to make myself anonymous online and to track down people using proxy servers. To find out more about this go to: "Internet Connections". Anyway, I hope that this lets you know where I'm coming from. If you have any questions about my life just send me an e-mail and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
