Beginning Recorder
Grades: 3rd grade and up (must have understanding of fractions)
Materials Fee: $1.50 & (students will provide their own recorder)
Description:
This will be just a very basic introduction to recorder. Class 1 will introduce counting plus making a clear sound using good breathing techniques. Class 2 will introduce playing the notes B,A,G. Class 3 will introduce the staff, treble clef sign and musical alphabet. Class 4 will look at reading standard notation: quarter note, half note, dotted half note and whole note in a 4/4 time signature. If demand is high enough, we will have continuing classes in the next term.
