| My current and 2nd bike is a '94 Honda CBR 600
F2. My first 600 was a '92 Yamaha Seca
II that I bought just after turning 17. After having the Seca II for about a year, I was ready to upgrade. The Yamaha was a nice machine, but I wanted something that handled better in the turns, had more responsive acceleration, was oil cooled, and had more after market availability. The hunt was on and lucky for me, I was convincing enough as a cute 18 year old little girl to talk a young man into selling me his bike. I'll leave the acutal numbers out of it, but let's just say, what it's worth now is what I bought it for then. Oh yeah, the kind previous owner also bought me dinner... All things considered, I think I did pretty well with this purchase. |

So I bring the new bike home, and what does my Dad say... "Don't go putting an aftermarket pipe on that thing and make is obnoxiously loud". Well as it happened, I was graduating from highschool at the time and as a gift my dear friend Pat bought me a used (for like a month) Two Brother's slip-on exhaust for my toy(Thanks Mark). Talk about stoked. I really did have some great friends, especially Pat who helped me with the bike all the time, anytime I needed it. Oh and my Dad... I think he likes the pipe as he has a huge smile on his face everytime he comes back from riding my bike. Ya know you like it. |
| Due to the fact that I am a student and lack the funds to spend on aftermarket products for my machine, there isn't a great deal I have done to my bike to improve performance. There's more than enough power to make me giddy and certainly too much for sane street riding. Today's 600's are race bikes with turn signals... If your a first time rider with a new machine and your spending tons of money on aftermarket sprockets, ignition advancers, turbo kits, nitrous, and full system race exhausts cuz your bike needs to be faster... Well then, it goes without saying that you my friend, are a Squid. |  |
