The Service crew is a vital component of any rally team. The service Crew on the day have to maintain the vehicle at service points, check for breakages, leaks, cracks, maintain fluid levels and change tyres.
Working on a service crew is a challenge, there is only a certain amount of time set aside for servicing so teams have to work very quickly.
They also give up a lot of time to develop and maintain the vehicle in between events and outside of the season.
The service crew usually doesn't get to see much of the rally, doesn't get much credit when the team does well, but without them we couldn't compete.
Servicing is usually done at the side of the road on a touring stage or in a specially allocated area called a service park.
