              Dear Cousin, I seat myself this evening to drop you a few lines to let you no that we are all well at this time.
              Hoping when these few lines comes to hand they may find you well and doing well I have nothing of importance to write to you. We have got out of ??? at last. Corn is one dollar a bushells
              Is Mcelhannons children is all sick. They have got the scarlet rash. They are mending slowly I want youall to come to see us as soon as you can. Grandpa and grandma was well when we left them. The connection was in well you must write to me as soon as get this letter. So I must come to close. You must excuse my short letter and bad writing and spelling.

              Addressed to 'Cousin Ann", Writes that Mother is complaining but is better, Describes what friends and relatives are doing. It is lonely. . the boys are all going to war," Asks Ann to sym-pathize. One company is ready to start. Jesse, Tom, William, Motly and both our Charlies are going. Charlie Herrin is 3rd Lieutenant of Lawrence Invincibles, the 1st Company - motto is: Southern Rights On Northern Blood, Other co, motto:
              "Southern Resistance against Northern Agression," War is topic here, "The secession flag is floating even in the villages here ,~ Tell Cousin Jane to bring that sweet being north to marry him, Asks Ann to send John some wild peachtree bark to relieve him,

             Daniel Lindsey Kelly of Tennessee wrote the Honnoll family in Mississippi during the Civil War    Is he related, if so how?   Was his mother a Honnoll???
